The Big Ten Conference announced its postseason hockey awards Tuesday, and four Notre Dame players received honors from the league.

Captain and senior left wing Landon Slaggert, who scored a career-high 20 goals and led the Irish in scoring with 31 points, was named to the All-Big Ten second team. Graduate goaltender Ryan Bischel and graduate-transfer (from Harvard) defenseman Ryan Siedem received All-Big Ten honorable mention. Junior center Hunter Strand is one of seven league players honored for their sportsmanship.

Sophomore forward Gavin Brindley, who led the league in scoring with 29 points, is the league’s player of the year, according to voting conducted by conference coaches and a media panel. The defensive player of the year is Michigan State defenseman Artyom Levshunov, who also is the league’s freshman of the year. The goaltender of the year is Wisconsin senior Kyle McClellan. Coach of the Year honors went to Adam Nightingale of regular-season champion Michigan State.

Brindley, Levshunov and McClellan were named to the All-Big Ten first team along with sophomore forwards Rutger McGroarty of Michigan and Jimmy Snuggerud of Minnesota. Michigan sophomore defenseman Seamus Casey also made the first team.
